Here is a list of writing goals that will keep you motivated when you don’t feel like writing or feel like quitting when your writing doesn’t go well.

These quick writing goals will keep your focused on your main gioal of becoming a skilled, productive writer.

  1. I’ll write every day without offering excuses
  2. Even if I don’t have the time, I’ll write at least 5 minutes a day
  3. I’ll write something, anything, even if I’m not working on a write project
  4. I’ll write every day even if I think I don’t have any idea
  5. I’ll write again tomorrow even if today’s writing doesn’t go as well as I expected it to be
  6. I’ll not stop to think while writing. I’ll do it before that.
  7. I’ll write and finish a first draft of an article, blog post, book or novel, no matter how badly it goes
  8. I’ll write 5% to 10% more than the day before.
  9. I’ll publish what I write without worrying too much about the quality of the writing
  10. I’ll not subscribe to perfectionism. Perfectionism is a disease that kills productivity
  11. I’ll write and finish first and fix later whatever doesn’t sound right.
  12. I’ll write first thing in the morning when my mind is fresh
  13. I’ll not read when I’m supposed to be writing.
  14. If I feel like reading, I’ll write something I would like to read
  15. I’ll trust my writing. I’ll not compare it with that of others.
  16. I’llwrite whenever I can find free time. I’ll not wait for the right or ideal time.
  17. I’ll gather ideas in my pocket notebook when I’m away from my workspace and transfer them to my computer as soon as possible.
  18. I’ll finish what I start and if I think I can’t finish, I’ll not start.
  19. I’ll set a start time and finish time for every writing project.
  20. I’ll write an article or eBook out of at least one point from an article or book I read.
  21. When reading an article or a book, I’ll think like an editor. I’ll ask myself, “Can I write a better version?”
