My academic background is in engineering and law but I’ve been living by my pen for the past twenty eight years.
Currently I’m a freelance writer and a content adviser for a travel tech company.
I started off writing children books in 1988, working for a book publishing company as an in-house writer and editor for children story books for school libraries.
I went into full-time freelancing in 1989.
I’ve written over 2000 children and young adult books combined, not only fiction but also biographies, plays and poetry, some under the pen name Rann Baker.

In the early 1990s I edited a magazine called Fire Safety magazine, the first magazine of its kind in Malaysia to instill fire safety awareness among factory operators and high-rise building owners .
Then I edited a Magazine called Virtual Malaysia, a travel magazine covering Malaysian destinations, leading a team of writers, photographers and graphic designers.

In the mid-1990s I began to be active in theatre and formed a theatre group called Sehala Studio, open to amateurs who wished to showacse their acting, writing, directing and production skills.
I wrote the scripts for four plays, directed and produced them.
Then in mid 2000s, I ventured into online writing and wrote about 250 articles on subjects ranging from digital video, nutrition and nature cure.
Then I experimented with e-book publishing to learn the ropes e-book creation and publishing.
I’ve written two books, writing-reklated- Writing Fitness and Anti-Procrastination….
Novel in Progress
Currently I’m on work on a Novel set in Brickfields Kuala Lumpur, revolving around characters who pay a high price for falling prey to the temptation to travel down memory lane.
Book in Development
I’m also preparng another book, a non-fiction title, which is a dramatic account of the events leading ti and the characters, including forgotten ones, who gave played a part in the nation’s road to Independence.
