You no longer want to be associated with the Facebook page. How do you remove yourself as the page admin?

No, you don’t have to contact the owner of a Facebook page to remove yourself as Admin.
You can do it directly from your Facebook page by following the steps below.
Steps to Remove Yourself as Admin of Facebook Page
Here are the steps you need to follow to remove yourself as an Admin on a Facebook page belonging to someone else.
Step 1 – Log in to your Facebook profile
Do this if you’re not already logged in to Facebook.
Step 2 – Click on the 9 dots.
You’ll find this on the top of the page,
Step 3 – On the drop-down menu choose Pages.
Scroll down to find Pages.
Step 4 – Choose the Appropriate Page.
This will be under the Pages and profiles section.
Step 5 – Click on Settings.
This will be under the Manage Page menu.
Step 6 – Choose Page Roles.
This will be under Page Settings.
Step 7 – Scroll down to Existing Page Roles
Click Edit on the right-hand side of your name.
Step 8 – Click on Remove
Upon clicking on Edit, you’ll be given the option to Remove yourself as Admin.
Step 9 – Confirm Remove from Page.
Step 10 – Re-Enter Password and Submit
You’ll be prompted to re-enter your password as a security measure. Then hit submit.
You’ll be removed as the page admin.
Step 11 – Check to See if You’ve Been Removed as Admin.
If you have been successfully removed as an Admin, you’ll no longer see the page under Pages and profiles.
